Description: Published in Belknap's Village Compilation, 1806, p. 45, for three voices: Treble-Tenor-Bass. Words by Philip Doddridge, 1755, with four stanzas. Belknap used the first two stanzas of Doddridge's hymn in his composition. Belknap altered the first line slightly, to "Indulgent God, with pitying eyes."
