Latin text Stirps Jésse vírgam prodúxit, vírgaque flórem. Et súper hunc flórem requiéscit spíritus álmus. Vírgo Déi génitrix vírga est; flos, fílius éius. Et súper hunc flórem requiéscit spíritus álmus.

English translation The stem of Jesse produced a shoot, and the shoot, a flower. And upon this flower rested a caring spirit. The virgin bearer of God is the shoot; the flower, her son. And upon this flower rested a caring spirit.
