::Not sure; poorly done as it is, at least it offers a Sibelius source for someone to use as a base for a corrected/enhanced edition. If it was just a PDF, I'd agree with you in deleting. —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]] [{{fullurl:User talk:Carlos}} {{mail}}] 17:26, 30 April 2010 (UTC) | ::Not sure; poorly done as it is, at least it offers a Sibelius source for someone to use as a base for a corrected/enhanced edition. Alexander Hume was a Scottish poet, not a composer. The original music is by Jonathan E. Spilman (1812-1896). See [http://library.duke.edu/digitalcollections/hasm.n0079/ facsimile edition] and [http://www.flickr.com/photos/jstephenconn/3793301319/ historical marker]. The melody or a variant is sometimes called "Afton Water" (the original title of the Burns poem), and the variant has been used as a tune for the Christmas carol "Away in a manger". | |||

The external link added states that the music is by Alexander Hume, but I'm not sure, as he was a poet. Can anyone confirm this? —Carlos 16:37, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- This score is basically unusable anyway. I would recommend that we do not retain it. --Bobnotts talk 17:00, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure; poorly done as it is, at least it offers a Sibelius source for someone to use as a base for a corrected/enhanced edition. If it was just a PDF, I'd agree with you in deleting. —Carlos 17:26, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
