Talk:Scaramella (Josquin des Prez)

These two editions don't match one another, and I don't mean the notational differences. The Russell version has the actual pre-existing melody in the altus, while the Cassola version puts it in the tenor for the first half, then switches it to the altus in "measure" 11 (=22 or so in the Russell). Plus the altus part has pitch and rhythm differences between the two versions from that point to the end. Any explanations? --Wspencer11 12:44, 5 April 2012 (CDT)

Hi, this another edition from IMSLP is much closer to Sabine's edition, although there are many differences in the texts:

With respect to the pitch and rhythm differences you refer to, I believe that Russell (or Cassola?) switched a few ornamentations between tenor and alto (conf. Russell's m.30 with Cassola's m.15) and also changed the rhythm slightly by adding dots. —Carlos  00:32, 6 April 2012 (CDT)
