Latin text
- Tollite hostias,
- et adorate Dominum

- Laetentur coeli,
- et exultet terra
- a facie Domini,
- quoniam venit.
English translation
- Praise the Lord of hosts, (1)
- and adore God
- in His holy place.
- Rejoice, heaven,
- and exult, all the earth
- before the Lord,
- who comes.
(1) The first line literally means 'Bring offerings' (Psalm 96, verse 8).
German translation
- Alle Welt freue sich:
- Christ ist geboren,
- Gottes Sohn kam in die Welt
- uns zum Heil erkoren.
- Jauchzet ihr Himmel,
- frohlocke du Erde,
- bringet Ehre und Ruhm dem Herrn,
- Alleluja.
