Biography

Jonathan Adams is a cum laude graduate of Arkansas State University where he received both his Bachelor of Music Ed. and his Master of Music degrees. While at ASU, he studied choral music with the late Alfred Skoog and composition with Jared Spears. He is currently choral director at Nettleton High School. Adams has been composing since age 18 and has many works in print. His music has been used for several All-Region and All-Conference Choirs, including the Alabama Jr. High All-State and the Northwest and Southern ACDA Jr. Honor Choirs. Many Jr. and Sr. High Schools as well as Arkansas State University Concert Choir, University of Mississippi Concert Singers, Arkansas Tech University Chamber Choir and The Fort Smith Chorale have commissioned his work. His newest published work, “High Flight” is being called “a choral gem” in the music reviews. It is published by Pavane Publishing in San Pedro, California. Adams professional affiliations include: The American Choral Director’s Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. In 2000, 2004 and 2005 Adams was included in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers”. In May 2001, Adams was elected to membership in The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). Adams currently resides on the family farm with his wife Kim and their daughters, Olivia Ann and Madeline Claire.
