Tables

Carlos, a rather belated thank you for pointing out {{Top}}, {{Middle}} and {{Bottom}}. Infinitely easier than the code, which I could never remember! I've taken on inserting it whenever I come upon a table in the old format, since I'm sure others will find it as useful as I do when they spot it. Jamesgibb (talk) 16:13, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Your're welcome! That reminded me that I need to add some documentation to these templates, will do it now :) Regards, —Carlos (talk) 16:43, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Translate extension

Hello, I see that this is a multilingual wiki. Have you considered using the Translate extension, which allows to easily make your MediaWiki multilingual? It makes you save enormous amounts of time which otherwise is wasted on templates wizardry, manual synchronisation of pages and so on, scarying off most translators; and offers many other aid to efficient translation. Now it's also available in handy tarball bundles. The page explains how to get help and more information, and there is extensive documentation; asking on #mediawiki-i18n @ freenode is probably your best chance for immediate assistance if needed. New Swedish composer

Helo Carlos

You have helped me before. I want to add scores of a Swedish composer that is not in the composers list. His name is Knut Håkanson.

Thanks!

Hi, Carlos. Thanks for the welcome. I've used CPDL quite a bit over the last few years and want to contribute back to it as I am able. Thanks, too, for clarifying my posting of a literal translation. (I'm still learning wiki conventions.)

Thanks and update to Batten work

Carlos -- thanks for your note welcoming me back to Choral Wiki! It prompted me to look and see what was the first thing I uploaded. Then I noticed my correction for Batten's "Haste Thee, O God" was in a hard-to-use format. These days I can easily make a PDF, so I did that and uploaded it. That also spells the composer's name correctly! I think I entered the information properly to create a new edition and I separately uploaded the PDF under the same name. But you or another editor will probably need to review and make sure everything is correct. Cheers, chris Christopherjhoh (talk) 13:46, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Thou Knowest, Lord, the Secrets of Our Hearts, Z.58b

Hello Carlos, yes, you are right: I (christoph Lahme) am the Editor. Z.58b is not the 'opus-number' for all of those settings of "Thou knowest", but only for that revised first setting I contributed. Moreover it's part of the Funeral Sentences (1672, 1677), but not composed for the funeral of Queen Mary. Thanks.--Christophero Manco (talk) 22:28, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Jean Gilles Requiem

Hello Carlos,

Thanks for your welcome, as you know i am new as cpdl user, and slowly learning howto etc.

The Jean Gilles Requiem is found on a french website, but it was very hard to trace and i can't find the original location anymore. Also googling ( by three separate persons ) did not give results.

The cpdl is much used by me as i am making rehearsal files for several choires i participate. Now I am unemployed and have some sparetime to upload a number of midi files I created the last years.

I will try to update my personal page, it seems that my previous attempt was not OK.

with regards, Roel

Callcott's "A Beauteous ..."

Carlos

Rather belatedly I have uploaded an earlier version of this work with the original, lewd, lyrics. Would you be kind enough to change the title to "A beauteous fair has pierced my heart". Many thanks Jgoodliffe (talk) 00:18, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Done. Nice to have the two editions for comparison, thanks! —Carlos (talk) 02:18, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Musica Colonial page

Carlos

You will see that I have jazzed up this page, adding a bit of 17th century glamour. I have also uploaded images of Morales and Juana Ines de la Cruz (they are both public domain). Feel free to do any tidying up you think is appropriate (e.g. dividing the list of composers into columns - I could not work out how to do this).

Jonathan Jgoodliffe (talk) 11:17, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Jonathan, the page looks very nice now! I've made the composers list into columns as you suggested. —Carlos (talk) 15:02, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

help, please

Dear Carlos, I have just founded a new page for Uherek Milan, but I did something wrong, because first name is Milan and I cannot repair it now. Could you please help me? Thanks, Jan Pallas

Hi Jan, his name was corrected. Regards, —Carlos (talk) 23:42, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Well, that was fast!!! Thank you very much, I will be more cautious next time. Jan

Hi, Carlos, I'll try. There are folksongs most in Moravia and Slovakia, which cannot be arranged too much modern. And Mr. Uherek was from Moravia and he felt how they should be sung and therefore he made them in somewhat simple harmony, but what is most important for these songs is agogics. And that cannot be heard from computer-made MIDI. Maybe some of Moravian or Slovak songs could be found on youtube. I am not much good in English, hope you understand me. Best regards, Jan
