::Hi, thanks for the links, I found the original file and it seems indeed to be in the PD as wikipedia says. I just took the liberty to replace the GIF version by a JPG one. For pictures in general, JPG offers a better resolution and takes less disk space :). —Carlos [carlos mail] 19:53, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

:::Thank you very much.  I also think that jpg pics look much better, but I can only upload gifs, whenever I try to upload a jpg I get an error message, it's very strange.  Any thoughts?  giulia tonelli 19:57, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

 Help

Hi Guilia and welcome back!! How have you been? We've missed you here. It's good to see that you have added some translations and done some page cleanup. You are still one of the ChoralWiki:Administrators here (with all those privileges!). There have been quite a few changes, but we'll be happy to help you get back up to speed with things. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page (or here on your talk page). Once again, welcome back, and Happy New Year.

Hey there!! I saw some of the changes and I like this website more and more. I have some time on my hands and I thought I'd do some work on here. I'm trying to tread lightly and not to disrupt anything, if I'm overstepping please let me know. A lot of the cleanup pages are actually pages that should probably be deleted, but I won't venture on such a radical move. Question: is there any reason why the pic of Brahms was removed? I like composers' pics :-) Happy new year to you and to all CPDL community! giulia tonelli 16:53, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Adding images

Hi Giulia, good to see you back and doing some editing :) I noticed you were adding a couple of pictures to composer pages and thought you'd like to learn of a simpler way. Instead of using tables, you can just put the image link as usual, adding the word "thumb" to it in order to produce the same table effect:

In the second example, there is also a parameter to customize the size (160px is the standard, if I'm not mistaken). Thanks again and keep up the good work! Carlos 01:21, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Giulia, thanks for adding more images, the pages are becoming more interesting now :) I just don't understand why you're adding images so small. If you have larger versions, please don't reduce them, upload them as they are and make the size adjustments in the page as explained above. Doing so, if someone gets curious about the image and clicks on it, s/he will be able to see it in the original size with more details. Thanks! Carlos 19:16, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm always worried that the files I upload might be too big. I didn't think of your point, that somebody might be interested in seeing the picture with more details. Thank you for pointing this out to me, I will follow your advice in the future! giulia tonelli 19:58, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Mergers

Hi Giulia, me again with more hints. When proceeding to mergers, please take into account the following: 1) it's always best to maintain the oldest of the two pages, so as to keep its edit history (even if the title is incorrect: it can be rectified later with a page move). 2) For the same reason (to keep the history), please don't create new pages with the correct title but move the current page instead. Please don't feel intimidated by my suggestions; as they say on Wikipedia, be bold! :) Regards Carlos 01:34, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your suggestions! I'm sorry if I have done things not correctly, I'll try to follow your suggestions in the future. Please do tell me if I do stuff that I shouldn't. I will try to ask if I'm not sure. Happy New Year! giulia tonelli 20:03, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Delete request

Hi Giulia. I deleted the Bach page as you requested. --Bobnotts talk 15:25, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

CPDL numbers

Hi again Giulia. I've changed the CPDL numbers from the ones you added to the following pages:

I did this because I guess you searched for "10" and got now results using that number, or you used the Verified Editions list to find an unused number. Unfortunately, the wiki software doesn't recognise searches of 3 characters or less so the search doesn't bring up any results. Also, the Verified Editions page was created manually so it's not 100% accurate. When you've finished fixing problems on a page, it's best just to delete the cleanup code rather than commenting it out. The information can be found in the page history if necessary. Thanks --Bobnotts talk 15:55, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much for explaning this to me. I apologize for the mistake. Can you tell me what the correct procedure is in order to add a CPDL number to a score? can I safely use numbers with 3 digits or more (after I searched of course)? Thank you for your help, and please do tell me when I do something wrong. giulia tonelli 16:00, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
No problem. What I do when trying to add a CPDL number is to first search for the date the edition was added to find some editions which were added around the same time. Then search for numbers around the numbers of those editions. Alternatively, I'll just use a higher number which is left over when someone submitted the add works form twice by accident for the same edition, for example. The only way to know this is if you receive the add works emails which you don't. Because of this, it's probably a job best left to people who receive the add works outputs - Chuck, Carlos and myself. --Bobnotts talk 22:06, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Any editor wishing to recover an old CPDL # or a date of submission (prior to 2005-01-12) will find the following links extremely useful:
Indeed, I've done a few restorations (including the Victoria Popule meus) using this information already. -- Chucktalk Giffen 22:46, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Ave verum corpus

Hi Giulia! I saw that you added a recent picture to the page above and thought that perhaps it may bring us some problems if it's not in the public domain or a picture taken by yourself. I would suggest that always when possible you tried to use reproductions of old paintings, so as to be sure that no copyright is infringed. What do you think of this image instead? —Carlos [:Template:Carlos Email.gif] 19:12, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
