We give you thanks, dear Lord, beyond all time and space,
Source of all things both seen and unseen,
Ground of our being sure,
Fountain of love and righteousness and joy:
We give you thanks for your great glory.

We give you thanks, dear Word, who shared our human state,
Spread wide your arms upon the cross,
Healing and teaching still,
Drawing all men and women to yourself:
We give you thanks for your great glory.

We give you thanks, dear holy dove of Pentecost,
Poured freely out upon your Church,
When intercession fails,
Praying through our unutterable groanings:
We give you thanks for your great glory.

We give you thanks, dear Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
One God, beyond all time and space;
Sharing our human state;
Pleading with groans and sighs when words must fail:
We give you thanks for your great glory.
