Our apartment was a good place to live, yeah!
The toilet sputter'd and the roof was a sieve,
So when remodellers came knockin' one day,
We took their offer and decided to stay;

We got a little nervous when they ripp'd our the lights, yeah!
Then lin'd the ceiling with some green stalactites,
Ev'ry room was fifty on the thermostats,
They promis'd it'd be warmer when they brought in the bats!

We're livin' in an air condition'd
We're livin' in an ultra retro
We're livin' in a chic and sassy
We're livin' in a cave!

They took away our stove and left a fire pit, yeah!
And then made sure the limestone on the walls would drip,
Some moss and fungus pass'd as authentic shrubs,
And Nat'nal Georgraphic came to verify our clubs!

They're tellin' me how to grunt and groan, it's supposed to be fun,
(My bearskin fashion statement's really itching')
And pick my teeth with a mammoth bone if I could only find one,
(I'm wearin' tree shoes with Jurassic stitching'.)

The ceiling's low, I bump my head
I'd rather have some air instead,
My chair's a rock, my bed's a stone,
So do I have to call it home?

So when remodellers came knockin' one day,
We took their money and then quietly went away.
