Italian text Già fu chi m'ebbe cara, et volentieri, Giovinetta mi prese Ne le sue braccia, et dentr'a' suoi pensieri, Et de' miei occhi sì tutto s'accese Che'l tempo, che leggieri Sen' vola, tutto in vagheggiarmi spese; Et io, come cortese, Di me lo feci degno; Ma hor ne son, dolente a me, privata.
