Long temps y a que je vys en espoir,
Et que Rigueur a dessus moy pouvoir :
Mais si jamais je rencontre Allegeance
Je luy diray, Ma Dame venez veoir :
Rigueur me bat, faictes m'en la vengeance.

Il y a longtemps que je vis en espoir
et que je suis dans le pouvoir
de la rigueur,
mais si jamais je rencontre l'allégance
je dirai à ma dame:
"Venez voir, rigueur me bat,
faites-moi la vengeance."
