1. We give thee praise, O God,
Acknowledge thee as Lord;
And all the earth doth worship thee,
Father, with one accord.
To thee all angels cry,
The heavens and powers therein;
The cry goes up from Cherubim
And six-winged Seraphim.

2. Lord God of Sabaoth,
Thrice-holy Lord on high,
Thou fillest both the heaven and earth
With glorious majesty.
The goodly fellowship,
Prophets, martyrs praise thee;
Apostles glorious, noble band,
Praise thee eternally.

3. Father of majesty,
Thy true and only Son,
Also the Holy Ghost, one God,
The Church gives praise as one.
Thou art the King, O Christ,
Who came to set us free,
And of a Virgin thou wast born
In great humility.

4. When thou hadst overcome
The sting of death and sin,
Thou didst throw wide heaven's gates that all
Believers might come in.
In glory thou dost sit
At God's right hand of power,
And we believe that thou shalt be
Our judge at earth's last hour.

5. We therefore pray thee, Lord,
To hear thy servant's plea,
Whom thou hast, with thy precious blood
redeemed eternally;
Make them at last to stand
Among those who adore
And to be numbered with thy saints
In glory evermore.
