Wiki Code for Nested Movement files

Hello, Claude!

I am attempting to add upload reference links as sub-parts, (i.e. movements) under a collected work, as per this 'startup example'...

https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Psalm_119_Choral_Suite_(Joel_Hunsberger)#Music_files

My first question is: Why does the Part 1 .mp3 file name continue to appear? (i.e. appearance of 'Psalm_119_Choral_Suite_-_Part_1%281-4%29.mp3' on the finished page.) What I really want is for that file name to be hidden just like the .pdf file for Part 1 appears only as an icon.

I examined Wiki code examples from pages like these:

(e.g.) https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Missa_Divinae_Misericordiae_(Louis_Di_Rocco) .... where the actual file links are hidden as expected.
          https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/12_Ch%C3%B6re_aus_dem_Volksliederbuch,_WoO_VI/26_(Max_Reger)

I have tried different combinations, but I don't know why the .mp3 file name is displayed on the finished page.

Ultimately I will want this page to show 7 Major Parts, each consisting of 2, 3, or 5 movements as they present individual PDF, MP3, MIDI and MXL files for each of the 22 movements in the suite.

For example, I am hopping to achieve: Part 1: part_1_title part_1_icons

 1. Movement_1_title movement_1_icons
 2. Movement_2_title movement_2_icons

Part 2: part_2_title part_2_icons

 3. Movement_3_title movement_3_icons

...

Any help, or examples of Wiki coding to expand the structured Part and Movement titles appropriately will be MOST welcomed. Joel-Hunsberger (talk) 21:59, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

For each part, you're invited to create an edition (see any mass or cantata page): click on the "Add new edition" tab, on the upper right part of your work.
Thus you add three files: score (PDF), sound (MP3) and interchange format (MXL, compressed MusicXML).
When you click on "Add Data" at the end of the Add-edition form, the edition paragraph is created, with its mandatory edition number and added to the work page.
No need to reupload the two files you already uploaded for the first part, but you must create an edition for it, as for the other parts.
Don't forget to add lyrics (or a link to the regarding common text page), as the composer or arranger or editor, you are in the best position to do that yourself. ;-) Claude T (talk) 06:25, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

Claude: Thank you for modifing my draft entries into a really good looking format. I will be able to use the existing wiki code as examples to complete populating all 22 movements.

I have read about a 'Psalm' page on ChoralWiki and I don't understand that yet, but I am wondering if my Choral Suiite is appropriate for any reference on that page?

All psalm pages, for example Psalm 1, gather link to each pages having, in the "Original Texts and Translations" section the {{LinkText|Psalm 1}} mention; see Template:LinkText. Claude T (talk) 16:03, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

Adding new element occasionally replaces the entire work site...

Claude: This is mostly a curiosity question.... I have been overall quite successful in continuing to upload the parts and 22 individual movements of the Psalm 119 Choral Suite..

BUT, on a few occasions, the uploads and prep in the 'Add New Element' sheet go through fine, but the code to ADD is inserted in place of the entire work sheet... That is, the new edit just blow everything else away. I have recovered easily enough with the UNDO edit features, but I was wondering if this is some mistake I am making.

As has been, your help and demonstrations have been abundantly helpful!!

In fact, this is happening all the time now, starting at Part 4 and beyond.  :-)

I don't know why, but look at the page history (a tab at the upper right part), where one can see that you remove data and then restore it. Claude T (talk) 21:46, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
