Among the most beautiful flowers that heaven ever created,
My lady had stretched a golden snare,
And covered it with various leaves,
So I, who had the veil of love on my eyes,
Ran to chase the flower that I alone honor,
And reaching out my hand, I didn't see from where
I was thus bound around the neck by a strong noose,
