Floreat: c. 1400

Biography

English composer. Secular organista at Westminster Abbey in 1399/1400, and contracted for 20 years at Winchester Cathedral Priory in 1402 to sing and play the organ in daily Mass. Probably the "J. Tyes" to whom an isorhythmic Gloria and Sanctus are attributed in the Old Hall Manuscript.
