Charles Goodban was born in Canterbury, Kent, England. He was educated at Oxford and became known as a recitalist. He was organist at Trinity Church, Tonbridge Wells; and taught music at Trinity College. He composed a number of miscellaneous pieces. He died at Hove, Sussex, England.
