Biography
John Whittaker lives in Reading, Berkshire, UK. He has written a number of songs for voice and piano, some short choral pieces (including some Shakespeare settings), cantatas for children's choir with instrumental accompaniment, a few short orchestral pieces and two one-act operas. His most substantial work is his chamber opera of 50 mins. duration based on the Thomas Hardy play, 'The Three Wayfarers'. His music is influenced by English folk-music and the music of Vaughan Williams.
