O misero scontento, Che le labbra, le man, l'amico petto Legan quest'alma afflitta Stretto stretto!

English translation My little cruel tyrant, When I suck those sweet corals of yours (meaning: your lips)' I tremble, like one who cries: Go on, go on! My sweet little crazy one, When I hold those white crystals of yours (meaning: your hands) I tremble, like one who cries: Go on, go on! Oh poor unhappy man, Whom your hands, your lips, your friendly bosom Tie the painful soul So tight, so tight!
