Latin text 1  Dilectus meus descendit in hortum suum ad areolam aromatum ut ibi pascatur in hortis et lilia colligat. 2  Ego dilecto meo et dilectus meus mihi, qui pascitur inter lilia. German translation 1  Mein Geliebter stieg in seinen Garten hinab zum kleinen Gewürzbeet, damit er dort weide in den Gärten und Lilien sammle. 2  Ich [gehöre] meinem Geliebten und mein Geliebter mir, der zwischen Lilien weidet.

English translation 1  My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the bed of aromatical spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. 2  I am my beloved's, and he is mine, who feedeth among the lilies.
