Italian text Fuggite amore, o voi che donne amate, fuggite, anchor ch’andasse lei piangendo. Che non si vince amor se non fuggendo. Mutate loco, e per lo mondo andate cridando libertà, sempre fuggendo. Che non si vince amor se non fuggendo. Fuggite sempre e di sdegno v'armate, la notte e’l dì, vigilando e dormendo. Che non si vince amor se non fuggendo. Questi i remedii son contra d'Amore, fuggite sempre, E chi questo può fare, fra li beati si può numerare.

German translation Flieht die Liebe, o ihr geliebten Frauen, flieht,obwohl er dann weinend zurückbleibt. Denn man überwindet die Liebe nur durch Flucht. Wechselt den Ort, und geht weit fort, nach Freiheit rufend, immer auf der Flucht. Denn … Flieht immer weiter und wappnet euch mit Verachtung, Tag und Nacht, wachend und schlafend. Denn … Das sind die Heilmittel gegen Amor, flieht allezeit. Und wer das leisten kann, der kann sich zu den Glücklichen zählen. Translation by Gerhard Weydt
