Ite rime dolenti, ite sospiri
del maggior rivo alle superbe sponde
ove all'ombra di lieti e verdi fronde
s'accoglie la cagion de miei martiri.
E se qualche pietà vi par l'inspiri
d'onesto amor con voce alte e profonde
che d'ogni intorno ne rissuonin l'onde
ed ella insieme forse ne sospiri
ditele ch'io men vo come al ciel piace
lontan da lei e con sì cruda doglia
che già nulla altra a questa può aguagliarsi
fugge ogni gioia e resta chi mi sface
onde non fia che ritornar non voglia
tosto che più benigno il ciel suol farsi.
