Vor kurzem schmückten Blüten von Rosen als Geschenk des Papstes, trotz schroffer Winterkälte, dir, himmlische Jungfrau, fromm und heilig geweiht, des Domes gewaltigen Bau in Ewigkeit. Heute wird der Stellvertreter Jesu Christi und des Hl.PetrI Nachfolger Eugenius diesen heiligen Tempel mit seinen heiligen Händen und geweihten Ölen weihen. Deshalb, hehre Mutter, deines Sohnes Tochter, du Jungfrau, der Jungfrauen Zier, ruft dich dein Volk von Florenz demütig an, dass, wer rein an Leib und Seele, um irgendetwas bittet, durch deine Fürsprache und die Verdienste deines Sohnes, des Herrn, des Menschgewordenen und Gekreuzigten, süsse Wohltaten und Vergebung seiner Schuld empfangen möge. Amen.
