Singt auf, lobt Gott, schweig niemand still,
weil Gottes Sohn Mensch werden will!
In unser schwaches Fleisch und Blut
sich kleiden will das höchste Gut.
2.
Ein Kindlein, das Gott-mit-uns heißt,
verheißen hat der Heilge Geist,
wie alles offenbar und kund
durch Isaiä wahren Mund.
3.
Geboren werden soll der Welt,
so hat es der Prophet vermeldt,
ein Kind von einer Jungfrau rein,
Emmanuel soll sein Name sein!
4.
O Mensch, betracht und fleißig merk
drei Wunderding in diesem Werk,
dergleichen Wunder nie geschehn,
sie über Menschenweisheit gehn!

Vom Heilgen Geist empfangen ist
ein Kind, Gottmensch, der wahre Christ:
Emmanuel, Gott-mit-uns, klein.
Die Mutter bleibt ein Jungfrau rein.

O Gott-mit-uns, Mensch, Gottes Sohn,
Kind, Wunder, aller under Kron,
