Formatting

This template seems to have been intended for formatting audio training aids submitted without an accompanying pdf score (there's an administrators-only discussion on the forums). Nacho Alvarez' didactic MIDI's are hosted offsite at tomasluisdevictoria.org and I'm still looking around for other precedents, but in any case a policy and note in documentation might be helpful. Hi Richard. If I understood it correctly, you weren't happy with just the template's layout and text style. Then, why not change the template instead of removing it altogether? Feel free to make the changes that you think will improve it. :) —Carlos (talk) 00:25, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

Just wondering what style guideline we might come up with: (CPDL #63033 is now merged with Officium de Cruce (Loyset Compère)). I tried deleting "contrib = Corinne Cooze" but got a superfluous line "Contributor: [[User:|User:]] (submitted ). Copyright: CPDL".

I'm always grateful for your encouragement to look 'under the hood', but it's not yet clear to me how the code makes parameters optional. This could become a model for an individual orchestral parts template too, I guess! Richard Mix (talk) 03:50, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

I see what you mean. This template was originally developed to stand alone, as an independent entry "mimicking" a CPDL edition but without having a real CPDL#. That's why parameter |contrib= was never made optional. Considering now all the changes required to make it useful as a template for displaying individual orchestral parts, I'm starting to change my mind... better leave it as it is and possibly create a new template for your needs (or just use plain text, as you did in CPDL #35445).
