Latin text Beati mortui in Domino morientes deinceps[moriuntur amodo]. [Etiam] Dicit enim spiritus, ut requiescant a laboribus suis et opera illorum sequentuur ipsos. German translation Selig sind die Toten, die in dem Herrn sterben. So spricht der Geist des Herrn: Sie sollen ruhen von Ihren Mühen, und ihre Werke folgen Ihnen nach. Text zum Satz von Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Wie selig sind die Todten, die in dem Herrn entschlafen. Also spricht der Geist des Herrn, sie ruhen aus, sie ruh'n von Müh' und Beschwerde, und ihre Werke sie folgen ihnen.

English translation Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. French translation Heureux les morts qui meurent dans le Seigneur. Oui, dit l'esprit : que dès à présent ils se reposent de leurs peines, car leurs œuvres les suivent.
