Ce mois de mai, sur la rosée
jouer irons pour cueillir vert;
m'amie et moi sous la ramée,
regardant la feuille à l'envers:
puis elle craint le découvert
des genoux, sentant la froidure:
par moi si seront récouverts,
mais je serai la couverture.

English translation

So in this month of May,
in the dew, we go to gather greenery;
me and my g.f. under the boughs,
studying the leafage from below:
Then, feeling chilly, she's wary
of her bared knees:
They'll be hidden again by me,
but I'll be the blanket.
