Biography
Designation attached to a two-voice Gloria in the Apt Manuscript. The word may not refer to a composer’s name, but might rather reflect the nature of the piece. It has also been suggested that "Chassa" could refer to Cassin Hullin, a valet de chambre and singer in the chapel of Duke Philippe ‘the Bold’ of Burgundy in 1385.
