Italian text Ché più foco al mio foco, o fiamma al core? Donna, s'io vivo in foco, dunque de l'arder mio vi cal sì poco? Ahi, poco vostr' honore veder la morte, in voi veder la vita d'un vostro fido amante! O, luci di vostr'occhi, alter' e sante, perché non date aíta? Non è quel foco in voi ch' ard' et infiamma: Perché, dunque, altro fuoco o altra fiamma?

English translation Why do you add fuel to my fire, why do you inflame my heart? Milady, that I live engulfed by fire, ever burning, do you really care so little? Ah, there's very little honour in your just watching the death, in your just watching the life of someone who loves you so faithfully! Lofty and blessed eyes, why do you offer no help?
