Latin text Dominus Iesus, postquam cenavit cum discipulis suis, lavit pedes eorum, et ait illis: 'Scitis quid fecerim vobis, ego Dominus et Magister? Exemplum dedi vobis, ut et vos ita faciatis.'

German translation Der Herr Jesus, nachdem er mit seinen Jüngern gegessen hatte, wusch deren Füße und sagte zu ihnen: 'Wißt ihr, was ich an euch getan habe, ich, der Herr und Meister? Ich habe euch ein Beispiel gegeben, damit auch ihr so handelt.'
