Elisabeth Zachariae
magnum virum genuit,
Joannem Baptistam,
praecursorem Domini.

Joannes est nomen eius.

Elizabeth, wife of Zechariah,
brought forth a great man,
John the Baptist,
the forerunner of the Lord.

His name is John.
He will drink neither wine nor strong drink,
and many will rejoice at his birth.
