English translation O'er all things sleep isstealing, 'Tis time to say goodnight; The boats are safe in harbour, But watchful stars are bright. And like to cloudlets lightly My longings float to thee, Like golden bridges seem they That reach from thee to me. German text Nun alle Wipfel schlafen, O habe gute Nacht! Die Schiffe sind im Hafen,  Die Sterne auf der Wacht. Nun alle Wipfel schlafen,  O laß dein Weinen sein,  Das Schifflein ruht im Hafen,  Wie du im Herzen mein.
