English text
Psalm 79
1. How long wilt thou be angry, Lord,
must we for ever mourn?
Shall thy devouring jealous Rage
like Fire, for ever burn?
2. O think not on our former Sins,
but speedily prevent
The utter Ruin of thy Saints,
almost with Sorrow spent.
3. Thou God of our Salvation, help,
and free our Souls from blame
So shall our Pardon and Defence
exalt thy glorious Name.
4. To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God whom we adore,.
Be Glory, as it was, is now,
And shall be ever more.
