Italian text O che diletto M'ingombra il petto, Mentr'io ti vagheggio, Vorrei cent'occhi aver, quand'io ti sto a veder; Quel dì ch'io non ti veggio, per gran dolor mi manca il cor, S'or non vuoi darmi duol, fa' chio ti vegga o mio bel sol. O che contento Nel cor mi sento quand'io ti rimiro. Perché mai sempre te veder non posso ohimé? Da te lontan sospiro, E tal martir mi fa morir. S'or vivo mi vuoi tu Da me non star lontana più.

English translation Oh what a joy Fills my breast, When I gaze at you, I wish I had one hundred eyes, When I look at you; On the day when I don't see you For great regret fails my heart, Now if you don't want to give me pain Let me see you, my beautiful sun. Oh, how happy I feel in my heart When I watch you. Why ever can't I See you every moment, dear me! Far from you I sigh And such a martyrdom makes me die. If now you want me to stay alive Don't stay away from me any more.
