Latin text Longe mi Jesu, longe ad te, Ah crucior mi Jesu in dolore Dulcedo suavis mea, O Jesu, veni ad me gratia tua, In afflictione mea, Adiuva me o dulcis Jesu, Cor meum incende, cor meum tua favore Et ure renes meos, Tandem moriar beatus En languet anima mea tue Jesu amore.

German translation Weit, mein Jesus, so weit entfernt von dir, ach, erleide ich große Pein, du meine liebste Wonne. O Jesus, komm zu mir in deiner Huld, in meiner Bedrängnis hilf mir, o liebster Jesus! Entflamme mein Herz für deine Gunst, lass brennen mir mein Eingeweide! Dann endlich werde ich selig sterben.
