Latin.png Latin text

Nesciens mater, virgo virum,
peperit sine dolore Salvatorem saeculorum:
ipsum Regem angelorum.
Sola virgo lactabat, ubere de caelo pleno.

Virgo verbo concepit;
virgo permansit.
Virgo peperit Regem omnium regum.
Virgo ante partum,
virgo in partu,
Virgo post partum.
Quem genuit, adoravit. Alleluya.

English.png English text

The virgin mother, knowing no man,
gave birth without pangs to the saviour of world:
the very king of angels.
The virgin alone gave him suck with the milk of heaven.

As a virgin she conceived through the Word;
she remained a virgin.
A virgin gave birth to the King of all kings.
A virgin before childbirth,
a virgin in childbirth,
a virgin after childbirth.
Him whom she had borne, she did worship. Alleluya.
