Latin text Pastores dicite quidnam vidistis in stabulo. Natum vidimus. Annunciate nobis quis apparuit. Jesum natum de Maria virgine. Quid audistis in praesepio? Angelorum carmina. Quaeramus ergo cum pastoribus Verbum incarnatum, Cantemus cum hominibus Regem seculorum, Et cum choris angelorum collaudemus Dominum. Alleluia.

English translation Tell us, shepherds, what you see in the stable. We see the new-born. Announce to us who is appearing. Jesus born of the virgin Mary. What do you hear in the crib? A choir of angels. So let us, with the shepherds, seek the Word incarnate, Let us, with mankind, sing to the King of ages. And with the angelic host let us praise the Lord. Alleluia.
