Now the merry spring is here,
Spring to ev’ry one so dear;
Cold and gloom are driv’n away
By the warm sun’s cheerful ray.
Merry birds and busy bees
Flit about the trees;
Soaring as they hum and sing,
For they love the pleasant spring.

Ev’ry bright and sunny day,
Over hill and dale we stray;
And upon the village green,
Merry gambol’s may be seen.
Bat and ball and cricket bold,
As the days unfold;
Oh, what pleasure does it bring,
Merry, gentle, balmy spring.

See the blackbird now is here.
Making music far and near;
See the yellow buttercup,
On the green is springing up.
See the orchard trees in bloom,
Violets shed perfume;
Let us join the mirth and sing,
Cheerful songs for happy spring.
