Bob

It is quite rare to come across baroque/classical works which seem to be composed for exclusively women's voices. Is it worth adding a category for the few that there are?

Sorry for the delayed reply. I have to confess to having only just noticed your message. Well as this is an interesting subsect, that would make sense. Rameau - Ô nuit

Hi, Why did you remove the information I put about the lyricist and the arranger?

Paroles de E. Sciortino, arrangement à 4 voix SATB de Joseph Noyon

It's *very* important for this piece as Rameau composed only the theme of the "Duo des prêtresses de Diane" in his opera "Hippolyte & Aricie".

Hi. I'm not entirely sure I know what you're getting at but I'll have a guess... my only substantial edit to the page was made about a year and a half ago. You'll forgive me for forgetting my exact reasoning in that time. It seems that I was a bit over ambitious in what I deleted. I think I deleted your translation of the "general information" on the basis that this would not normally be translated on a score page. Hi, Thank you for that. I don't know why I was only notified today of the modifications... Perhaps problems with my e-mail? For me, it's difficult to know what has to be translated and what hasn't because I see the whole CPDL site in french... How can we put the arranger's name? It's he which has really *created* the "Ô nuit" piece in changing the tempo, writing for 4 voices SATB instead af 2 women voices with baroque orchestra, etc. The history of this piece is very interesting, really. CPDL Policy

Hi, I have got a few questions about CPDL policy: Monteverdi mentioned viols/trombones ad libitum for some of his compositions in "Selva Morale et Spirituale". I am on the way adding these parts (Monteverdi did not publish them) and would like to know if it is preferable to have two editions of the full score, with and without viols/trombones or if it is advisable to save webspace by having only one edition. Similarly, do you prefer lean MIDI files or is it better to publish much larger MP3 in better quality? Edit: I tried to register to the forum but it did not like my e-mail address. Very sorry for the delay in getting back to you. You may have already had your question answered elsewhere. But if not,
  1. Please publish as many versions of editions as you deem useful.
  2. Generally, I would recommend you add MP3s in favour of MIDIs if you think that there is something to be gained from the public in a different format (eg. musical instrument sounds more authentic, tempi more accurate). If everyone were to add MP3s rather than MIDIs, this may cause us some concern but ultimately we'd find a way round it.

How to close Score Requests?

Hi, I came across Request:Songs from the Bavarian Highlands (Edward Elgar) from 2002 and found that these 6 songs have been typeset in 2004 and 2007. Hence I changed the status to "Completed" and inserted a list. Should there be more on that Requests Page? is there somewhere a crib sheet on how to close Requests? Hi Klaus. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. What you've done is exactly right so thanks for that :-) When a request has been completed, template should be changed from "requested" to "completed" as you have done. Adding the individual score pages is a bonus. To be honest, I'm not sure that the requests system is used all that much which is a shame. We don't have any hard data on this but from my observations, there don't seem to be many new requests made. I'm not sure how we could increase take up though... maybe start a discussion on the forums? Cheers --Bobnotts talk 05:31, 28 September 2011 (CDT)

The lyrics for my piece "Stars" were written by me. Thus, placing the copyright in my possession.

I'm pretty behind on all things CPDL at present unfortunately :-( I've added the lyricist template to the page to confirm what you've told me. One final thing - you stated on the edition notes on the page "© Anthony Pezzelle May, 2009." but under "copyright" it says CPDL.
