There is a paradise (Robert Lucas Pearsall) & acc.

(An overdue) welcome to CPDL! It's been fun seeing your Pearsall & Parry editions. I'm not quite sure what you meant by "first bass has been changed to baritone". Is it renamed, or has the oiece been transposed? In any case it would be best to have an extant category for the voicing template: it could be piped ATBB|ATBarB if you think that's more acurate. I think it's felt splitting voice types to fine would hamper searching, but you could also bring the issue up at Category talk:Voicing.

A second thing that interests me is how the piano part is described in the sources. These look like they only double voices and aren't accompaniments as such. Two conventions are to add the words "for rehearsal" or to use a small double staff; it's also suggestive if piano is not mentioned on titlepage. Cpdl has templates for obligato piano and also a confusingly named template for Category:Keyboard reduction. Do we need another for ambiguous or optional cases?

Thanks again for the contributions! Richard Mix 17:50, 20 December 2011 (CST)

I love my love (Gustav Holst)

Ian, thank you for contributing an edition of the above work. If and when you publish any more editions, please make sure you add the bit about "Original text and translations" as well as the categories at the end. This is to make sure the page is flagged to have its text added and that it is categorised correctly. Many thanks --Bobnotts talk 04:09, 13 January 2012 (CST)

I found two errors in your score, I made a note at the page of the score. Imruska (talk) 23:38, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Psalmus Poenitentialis

Any chance of a Sibelius 6 version? Some of us didn't upgrade to 7! --Peter Smith 08:26, 2 March 2013‎

Downgrading to 6 is no problem as 7 will allow me to export to 6. However the problem is how to post it on the same page. Admin Carlos edited this page today. He is admin so may be able to help me with posting the file.IanHaslam (talk) 21:08, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi Ian, thanks for your prompt response! Your downgraded source file is already available at Psalmus Poenitentialis. Regards, —Carlos (talk) 23:09, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

Sweet love.pdf

Ian, you've inadvertently overwritten a George Kirbye file of mine with this name with a Stanford one of your own. No problem since, having checked that you'd uploaded a pdf with a variant name, I've reverted back to my one.

The warning that comes up about duplicated file names when uploading is not entirely obvious, but you can double check once the file is uploaded since all files with that name appear in table on the screen. It's a simple matter, if one does this inadvertently, to click on revert, which will restore the earlier version.

Perhaps it's safer though - mea culpa! - to add a composer name into the file name in the first place. Jamesgibb (talk) 18:41, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi Ian and James, I've changed the warning message to make it much more visible now (check it here). I believe that this kind of problem is not going to happen anymore. :) Regards, —Carlos (talk) 00:21, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

SortWorks

Ian, you may have noticed that we have been making significant changes to the composer pages in the last few weeks. The aim of this is to automate, as far as possible, the adding new editions to the site and getting them into correct alphabetical order. A side benefit is that the change captures works that, for whatever reason, have not been added to the composer page. (My record for one composer is 21, including one of my own, embarrassingly!) We have removed the file links from the composer page since we have found that, when people updated files on a works page, they quite often forgot to update the file links on the composer page as well, so we ended up with mismatched files. It's also important that, before a user downloads a file, they are aware of any copyright restrictions which might apply. Many of these are only available on the works page.

It is still work in progress; it's more difficult to apply on complicated composer pages (like Parry, which definitely needs tidying up, since it is very difficult to find anything on it, or to identify precisely where a new work should be entered.) I should be interested for any comments you may have, whether positive or negative.Jamesgibb (talk) 12:20, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Missing .mxl file

Hi Ian. The file "Dance_to_your_daddy.mxl" seems to be missing from Dance to your Daddy (Hugh S. Roberton). Could you please upload it? Thanks!! -- Charlestalk Giffen 08:10, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi again, Ian. Now "Wee_cooper.mxl" is missing (not uploaded yet?) - hence the red-link on the work page. -- Charlestalk Giffen 17:18, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
