Genre: Sacred, Liturgical music, Good Frida
Language: Latin
Instruments: A cappella
First published: 2023
Description: Acclamation for choir (SATB) a cappella as a response to the singing of ‘Ecce lignum’ during the Adoration of the Holy Cross on Good Friday. The chant is composed so that the polyphony begins on the same key left by the minister after the intonation of 'Ecce lignum'. It then modulates to end one tone above, thus providing the minister with the new starting key. This way ensures that there are no doubts or difficulties during the planned repetitions, making the performance automatic and always increasing in pitch.
