Biography

Wilfrid Shaw was born in Royton, Oldham, England, and educated at Oldham, Rochdale, Manchester, and Liverpool. He was a teacher of music and organist. He was Deputy Organist Wesleyan, Royton, at age 16, and held Organist and Choirmaster positions at Zion Chapel, Lees, Oldham; Myrtle Street Baptist, Liverpool; and Rake Lane Congregational Church, Wallasey, Cheshire. He was Accompanist, then Conductor of the Orchestral Society and Musical Director Wallasey Gentlemen’s Glee Club, Cheshire. His death is probably the one recorded 1944 in Birkenhead, Cheshire. His compositions are a handful of organ pieces, part-songs, etc.
