Edition notes: This edition has been based on The Congregational Harmonist. The order of parts in the source is Alto - Tenor - Air - Bass, with the Alto and Tenor parts given in the treble clef an octave above sounding pitch. Only the first verse of the text is given in the source: subsequent verses have been added editorially. The figures in bars 1 and 2 in the soprano and tenor parts given here as dotted quavers followed by demisemiquavers are printed in the source as crotchets followed by semiquaver grace notes. Figuring of the vocal bass part in the source has been omitted in this edition to facilitate the underlaying of additional verses of the text.
