German text 20b  Joseph, du Sohn David, fürchte dich nicht, Mariam dein Gemahl zu dir nehmen, denn das in ihr geboren ist, das ist von dem heilgen Geist 21  und sie wird einen Sohn gebären, des Namen sollst du Jesus heißen, denn er wird sein Volk selig machen von ihren Sünden.

English translation 20b  Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
