My soul doth magnify the Lord
my spirit with elation sings,
that one of meek and low accord
should bear on earth the Kings of Kings!

All generations yet to be
shall call me blest and know my joy!
How great God's love revealed in me
to give the world this heav'nly Boy!

The mercy of the Lord is sure
to those who bend before God's might;
by God's strong hand the weak, the pure
shall rise, the proud be put to flight.

The hungry with good things are filled;
the rich, sent empty from the store;
O claim the promise God has willed,
to be our Saviour evermore.
