Arrgh! I submitted Obrecht's ''Beata es Maria'' as though it were by Gombert. Fixing my error is proving difficult, maybe impossible. I regret that I've left stranded the Works entry for the nonexistent piece, as well as the orphan files gomb-bea.pdf and gomb-bea.MID. When I tried to resubmit the pdf under its correct name I got an error that it was a duplicate of an existing file, which of course it is. Then I seemed to be frozen out, unable to access CPDL at all for many minutes. Now I'll try again to submit, ignoring warning messages, but I may need supervisory intervention... : Hi John, no problem at all, this can happen to anyone ;) I've deleted the wrongly titled "gomb-bea" files. As we're on this, filenames no longer have restrictions regarding the number of characters, and we even suggest that composer's surname and work titles be not abbreviated; you may upload files named e.g. "Obrecht - Beata es Maria.pdf" if you will. Thank you! —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]] ([[User talk:Carlos|talk]]) 04:23, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Merge the Gombert to the Hesdin suggested.

Hi John. First of all, many thanks for your wonderful editions that you have been contributing to CPDL – they are invaluable enhancements to our library. The real purpose of this message, though, is that I am suggesting we merge Alleluia: Spiritus Domini (Nicolas Gombert) into Alleluia: Spiritus Domini (Nicolle des Celliers de Hesdin) – following practice that has been used at ChoralWiki in other instances. Please feel free to express your opinion on the matter, either here on the discussion page for the Hesdin (where the merge discussion takes place). Thanks again for your scholarship, musicianship, and generosity in sharing your editions with us! – Chucktalk Giffen 15:10, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Please do whatever CPDL normally does in such a situation. I can't find "the merge discussion" you refer to regarding the Gombert/Hesdin Alleluia, so however you normally handle dueling or changing attribution is OK with me. John Hetland 19:00, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Fatal error

What did I do to deserve this?:
Fatal error: Call to a member function isDisabled() on a non-object in /home/cpdl/public_html/wiki/includes/db/Database.php on line 2654
I was submitting text and translation for Cardoso: Nemo. Possibly I forgot to do the arithmetic or did it wrong?

Hi John, this is a very unexpected error, apparently not related to anything you might be doing during your edit. Please try to add the text again and inform me here if you receive the same error message, ok? Regards, —Carlos Email.gif 03:54, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
I successfully added text and translation now. Maybe I was tired last night and did something crazy. I see I also forgot to sign my comment above. John Hetland 14:21, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Corrupt composer name

Adding Vidi aquam by Filipe de Magalhaes (tilde on third a) I didn't know how to make an a with a tilde on it so I copied and pasted a correct instance of it in CPDL. But somehow I screwed it up and created a page for something like Vidi aquam (Filipe de Magalh!@#$es). I managed to fix everything but I don't think I'm able to delete the spurious page. Hi, John. I've seen your words on the line of your creation of the correct page. I deleted the old one some time ago. Thank you for your contributions. Claude 08:57, 21 February 2011 (CST)

Missing composer

Why is Alfonso Ferrabosco I not in the index of composers? I was well on my way to the unfamiliar task of adding him when I (somehow) discovered he existed. But he didn't have any compositions. Now he has one, which I added. John Hetland (talk) 05:18, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Oh, now I see he's in the other list, the composers with no works. But now he has a work, so I suppose either he will move automatically on some update cycle, or someone with more clout than I will move him. John Hetland (talk) 01:26, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
Ah! I fixed it! That was easy. Just have to keep reading the fine print. John Hetland (talk) 01:35, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
