Alleluja,
quando jam emersit e vinculis sepulchri
Draconis stygii triumphator,
exultate animis, alleluja.
Revecta sunt coelorum aeterna gaudia,
alleluja,
saltate coeli cuncta elementa,
victoria celebri triumpho parta est nobis per Christum Dominum,
justitiae solem radicantem
mecum recinite, alleluja.

German translation

Halleluja,
weil auferstanden ist aus den Fesseln des Grabes
der Bezwinger der Schlange des Styx,
darum jauchzt mit froher Seele, halleluja.
Zurückgekehrt sind die ewigen himmlischen Freuden,
halleluja,
tanzt, alle Elemente des Himmels,
mit festlichem Triumph ist uns der Sieg gebracht worden
durch Christus den Herrn,
die leuchtende¹ Sonne der Gerechtigkeit
besingt mit mir!, halleluja!

¹: 'radicantem' wird als Falschschreibung von 'radiantem' interpretiert, weil 'wurzelschlagend' hier nicht plausibel erscheint.

der Bezwinger des Unterweltdrachen wieder auferstanden ist,
darum jauchzt in euren Seelen, halleluja.
Zurückgekehrt sind die ewigen Freuden der Himmel,

springt alle Elemente des Himmels,
in festlichem Triumph ist uns der Sieg gebracht worden
durch Christus den Herrn,
die leuchtende¹ Sonne der Gerechtigkeit
besingt mit mir!, halleluja!

since risen from the bonds of the grave
