Original text and translations

The text is from Mark 16, 6 - 7, but using a translation different from the Vulgata. The first phrase stems from Matthew 28.

Latin text Angelus ad mulieres dixit: Ne expavescatis! Iesum quaeritis Nazarenum qui fuit crucifixus; surrexit, non est hic. Sed abite et dicite discipulis eius et Petro, quod ille praecedit vos in Galilaeam, ibi eum videbitis. Alleluia.

German translation Der Engel sprach zu den Frauen: Entsetzet euch nicht! Ihr sucht Jesus von Nazareth, den gekreuzigten; er ist auferstanden, er ist nicht hier. Aber gehet hin und sagt es seinen Jüngern und Petrus, dass er euch vorangeht nach Galiläa, dort werdet ihr ihn sehen. Alleluia.

English translation The angel said to the women: Be not affrighted! Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified; he is risen; he is not here. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him. Alleluia.                 (Adapted from King James version)
