- Edition notes: The original Contra for ‘Esto nobis’ begins at measure 72, resulting in consecutive fifths in measure 77. The solution here rests on the assumption that the copyist missed a double-breve rest in measure 72 and sought to resolve the subsequent dilemma of two missing bars by repeating the ‘praegustatum’ phrase with ‘mortis’ as the underlay. Many thanks to Professor John O'Donnell for suggesting this solution.
