Italian text Gelo ha madonna il seno e fiamma il volto; io son ghiaccio di fuore e 'l foco ho dentro accolto. Questo avvien perché Amore nella sua fronte alberga e nel mio petto, né mai cangia ricetto sì ch'io l'abbia negli occhi, ella nel core.

English translation My lady has frost in her chest and flame in her face; I am frozen without, and hold a welcome flame within. This happens because love dwells in her brow and in my breast, and not ever does it change its refuge so that I bear it in my eyes, she in her heart. Translation by Allen Garvin
